AFROMICS

The genomic infrastructure for African precision medicine.

We are constructing the data, interpretation capability, and governance architecture required to develop drugs, diagnostics, and clinical tools that work for the 1.5 billion people currently excluded from genomic science.

HOW WE OPERATE

WHY AFROMICS EXISTS

“Why does a disease affecting 7.74 million people, 80% of them of African ancestry, receive a quarter of the research investment of comparable conditions?”

Our founder, Linia Zambezi, a genomic scientist trained at Cambridge, kept arriving at the same answer: the data needed to study it properly has never existed. Afromics was founded to build that data — and the infrastructure, governance, and interpretation capability that make it useful.
